This blog will function as a crappy weather alert blog, I’m realizing. Since I’ve made the call to close City Dogs for two days in a row (yesterday and today also), we can quickly review why.
(If you want to receive very occasional weather-closure alerts and wicked deals from City Dogs via text message, send your mobile number and your mobile service providers (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) to email@example.com and put “signup” in the subject. You’ll receive a free offer for signing up. )
First, from NOAA:
Today: Showers. High near 52. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming northwest. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Not exactly sunshine and rainbows; it’s more like soggy buns and cold hands kinda weather.
Add to that a NOAA-Salt Lake City “hazardous weather outlook” for all of northern Utah:
STEADY LIGHT PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING ACROSS THE NORTH…ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED IN THE MOUNTAINS.
Lovely. Snow in the mountains is fine, but if it snows again on the valley floor I’m gonna shoot a skier, cuz they always be prayin’ for snow.
Maybe there’s hope if I just check another website…? Weather.com:
Cloudy with showers. High near 50F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
That’s barely better and I usually accord more credibility to NOAA anyway. The last source I check is Wunderground.com:
Today is forecast to be nearly the same temperature as yesterday. … Widespread rain showers. Highs around 50. Chance of showers 90 percent.
The forecast for tomorrow and the rest of the week looks peachy, however, so I’ll see you Wednesday on my corner, 200 E. 300 South in SLC. Can’t wait to be back grillin’ dogs. See you then. (I miss you).
And if you’re like me, the headline is just enough nostalgia to make you need to watch the vid. Here: I’ve done the search-work for you:
